As the founder of Hloni Group, I’ve experienced firsthand the consequences of overthinking. "Too much analysis brings paralysis" is a lesson that has shaped my approach to both business and life. Back in 2018, I had a visionary idea to create a service delivery app similar to Mr. Delivery. I realized that to truly understand the logistics and nuances of this industry, I needed to gain hands-on experience. Consequently, I joined Take-A-Lot's Benoni branch and spent three months delivering products. This immersive experience was invaluable, providing me with deep insights into the operational challenges and customer expectations involved in service delivery.
By 2022, I had successfully developed the app, but despite the effort and time invested, it remained shelved. Meanwhile, I watched as several start-ups launched similar concepts and achieved remarkable success. Although I felt a pang of regret for not acting sooner, I was genuinely happy for their achievements. Their success underscored a critical point: opportunities must be seized promptly and with determination. Too often, we miss out on the grace and strength of the moment because we overanalyze and second-guess our decisions. This tendency to delay action in pursuit of perfection is a trap I have fallen into numerous times.
Recently, I found myself with another promising idea. However, instead of taking immediate action, I let it slide into "parking mode," caught up in planning and analysis. While striving for excellence is important, I realized that it should not come at the expense of timely action. In celebration of my 20 years in business and self-employment, I decided to take a bold step to help other entrepreneurs avoid the paralysis of overanalysis. To mark this milestone, we are offering professional web development services worth a minimum of R5000 to 20 lucky entrepreneurs or enterprises. This initiative, focusing on SMEs and start-ups, will be conducted weekly from June to October 2024. By the end of this period, we will have built 20 websites for 20 deserving entrepreneurs, providing them with a crucial tool to enhance their business presence and growth.
